FROM THE CREATOR OF THE HIT TELEVISION SHOW THE KILLING**, “a full-throttle thriller in the tradition of classic Stieg Larsson”** (A.J. Finn)—SOON TO BE A NETFLIX ORIGINAL SERIES.

A psychopath is terrorizing Copenhagen.

His calling card is a “chestnut man”—a handmade doll made of matchsticks and two chestnuts—which he leaves at each bloody crime scene.

Examining the dolls, forensics makes a shocking discovery—a fingerprint belonging to a young girl, a government minister’s daughter who had been kidnapped and murdered a year ago.

A tragic coincidence—or something more twisted?

To save innocent lives, a pair of detectives must put aside their differences to piece together the Chestnut Man’s gruesome clues.

Because it’s clear that the madman is on a mission that is far from over.

And no one is safe.

The Chestnut Man Review

Author seems to want include information about islam or the Middle East in various ways that it is annoying and waste of space in the book? Could have gone on without the mentions .. would still convey the same idea. Otherwise, plot well thought but I wish I never read the spoiler

This is one of the best books ive read in a long time. Kept you interested right from the first page. Every chapter had you rushing to read it so you could find out what was going to happen next. Was a long book but worth all the nights i stayed up late into the night to read.Would recommend this book.

I really liked the style and loved the hero. Very much a mystery right to the end

Stylish, faced-paced thriller that spooks you out; looking back, there is one key clue early in the novel that should have alerted me to the the identity of the killer; needless to say, I missed it.

I have a pretty strong stomach, and unfortunately only got through 8% of this book. It was too much for me. Good luck!

Riveting, engaging, really enjoyed this book. It is a long read, and has many convolutions through out.

This is a well written crime novel, one of the best I have read recently. The characters are very believable and the reader can relate to their fears and frustrations. The setting is perfect for a crime novel and the mystery lingers long after you finish the book. I recommend this highly to anyone who likes to read crime novels.

An excellent thriller novel with many twists and turns to keep you guessing until the end.

This is a deft well-written first mystery novel. The police procedural aspects which so often “dull down” most modern crime novels are important to the plot but are subordinate to the excellent pacing, great dialogue and character development. Red herrings abound but should be appreciated by most seasoned readers. Will give Jo Nesbo a run for his money in the “scandi-noir” genre. A great read!

Smart, slow-paced mystery of a serial killer with all the ingredients (surly cops, a politician, and loads of secrets)
